No beer is more quintessential to American craft beer than the American Pale Ale. Like the famous golf course, this beer is wholesome and good.
Augusta Pale pours with a basic golden appearance and topped with a creamy white froth. Pale in its appearance and cast in a medium haze, the bright bouquet of citrus, spruce, herb, grass and light toast float gently above. Moderately sweet with a simple malt profile, the early sips are medium flavored with caramel, honey and light bread crust.
Its hop profile takes over once the beer hits mid-palate. The floral aromas turn fruity with the taste of orange, grapefruit and a hint of pineapple to give roundness and brightness to the tastebuds. Adjusting toward a more bitter taste late on the palate, the session turns spicy with peppery pine resins, fresh-cut grass and citrus peel.
Medium bodied, crisp and clean in finish, the Pale Ale resides on the bitter side of bitter-sweet with an extension of hop bitterness that lingers well past the malts for a hop forward edge on the session overall.
