A rich pastry stout serving layers of vanilla, fudge flavorings, and caramel flavoring. A perfect beer to enjoy for dessert. Let it warm a bit for flavors to be more pronounced.

16oz can from Jake65. Black pour, small beige head. Sweet aroma chocolate, caramel. Taste brings in some dark fudge flavors, thick and rich. I know what I'm having for dessert.

Tar black with brown edging, brown head that becomes a collar. Smell has roasted malt as the lead but also rich dark chocolate fudge and light caramel, though slight earth and minerals distract. Taste gets more prominent as it warms. Malt and barley is certainly over roasted, but the caramel brownie sweetness is definitely there also. Has a metallic aftertaste, the true Achilles’ heel. Feel is warm, viscous, sticky, heavily roasted, and thin. Has potential but technical flaws hold it back

16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.

Looks fantastic pouring into the glass. Thick and dark like motor oil. Small dark tan head reduces to a ring and maintains, impressive considering the abv. Very little in the way of lacing.

On the nose, it's a little boozy, and there is a light licorice smell, and an even lighter chemical aroma. Getting nervous here.

On tasting, although the can proclaims vanilla, chocolate fudge, lactose, and caramel, I don't get any of those flavors, just licorice and a bit of soy sauce. I let it go to room temperature, and there was some improvement. Booziness was warming and pleasant. However, the expected sweet tastes still don't come through, and the licorice and soy sauce notes, though reduced, make it seem more of an RIS than an imperial stout.

Mouth closer to full than medium, finish warm and lightly licorice.

Overall, I have a sweet tooth and was excited when I read the can. Flavors promised did not come through, so a disappointing drink for me.
