From my rating it must not have a very good raspberry taste. It is hard to find a fruit flavored beer that has the right balance of fruit flavors that doesn't taste watered down. Rated 5-17-2024

Hazy grapefruit colored body with a soft pink head. Smell is dry and citrusy— grapefruit, raspberry, cracker malt, and spice. Taste is slightly sour, with raspberry and strawberry, a bit of wheaty malt in the body, and coriander on the finish, along with a bit of yeast. Carbonation is light, feel is wet. Easy drinking, and probably refreshing on a warm day, but not excellent as a wit.

just my second beer from this acclaimed operation, and once again i am let down. this isnt bad at all, but its poorly refined and super unexciting as a witbier, nothing about it stands out as special, unique, or expertly done, and in the end its just another fruit beer, any real wit identity is sort of surrendered to the fruit, which is more a commentary on how mild and generic and underdeveloped the wit yeast is rather than a statement that its over fruited, which it is not. orangey pink color to this, short fizzy head from the tap, a dull luster and quite a bit of haze. it smells yeasty but in a sort of stressed out way, not spicy and belgian and drying, it lacks the life of a good wit in that way. the base is wheaty in flavor and feel sure, but its too heavy, dense even, and without the effervescent carbonation the style demands, this loses its refreshment factor and drinkability. the raspberry is there, identifiable and all, but its sweet rather than tangy which also heavies this up a little bit, some acidity would do this wonders, even a little lemon acidity would pep it up. to me this is just average execution, and i am just not seeing the quality in their beers to justify either the hype or the price in most cases, although i will not give up on them after just two beers, no way. this one underdelivers though, not the light tart summery belgian style ale i was after at all...

edit: lost a pint can of this in the back of the beer fridge for a long time, over a year maybe, and cracked it last night. its color is muted but its not hazy anymore like it was from the tap, its close to still though, and the fruit has faded a lot, some acidity has come in, but it still doesnt hit like a belgian style beer, seems under flavored to me now, and i miss the fruitiness i remember in it. obviously something to drink fresher, not bad, definitely different, i wasnt wild about it new or older, id be curious to try some of the other fruit variants they do now...

Draft at Good Apple. Looks like pink grapefruit juice. Very faint raspberries in the aroma. Berries much stronger in the taste, light bready notes underneath. Light, refreshing.
