Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a two finger, dark khaki head that dissipates relatively quickly to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bourbon, milk chocolate and light woody oak. Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt with light char, bourbon, chocolate and woody oak, woody; dark toasted malt finish; a bit boozy. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A bold, bourbony barreled stout. Great bourbon and good chocolate character, but as hot on the palate as one would expect at 16%. A little two dimensional, but with winning barrel profile. Probably would be a bit easier to drink and reveal more its flavor at a somewhat lower ABV. The basics are good and this could be stellar with a better ABV to malt depth balance.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Black, flat pour. Sweet, boozy aroma, molasses, wooden. Taste is strong, sweet, roasty . Healthy burn. Straight forward RIS.

16oz can pours out very dark black with a tan/mocha head. Loved the nose, strong impressions of woody sweetness, char and chocolate, boozy and sweet and oaky. Couldn't quite tell it was 16% on the palate, a bit smaller and thinner than that, with lots of whiskey, chocolate, char and even smoke.
