Copenhagen 10/11 2019. 44 cl can from Meny, Gymnasievej, Køge. Yellow and Green Can presenting this as Das Original Neu Pilsner. Green and yellow cubes in the background.
Pours slightly unclear, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam just managing to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium-intense, lightly fruity, malty and with a light dry quality. Pale malts, grains, light caramel. Fresh grass. Sharp notes of grains peeking in.
Medium carbonation. Thin, watery, lively texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undercurrent. . Lingers for a while. Leading to a dry finish.
Pretty simple and not exactly neu. But well balanced, appropriately bitter Pilsener.
