Appearance: orange in color with a 2" fluffy head that lasts a long time.
Smell: light citrus and a bit of pine is detectable.
Taste: caramel, orange, light grapefruit, some pine, and a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp to start, less crisp and a bit dry at the finish.
Overall: a well balance beer that can be enjoyed any time of the day.

Bado Brewing "Zed's On The West Coast - West Coast IPA"
$12/32 oz crowler at the brewery on 9 December 2017
Notes via stream of consciousness: It pours a bit darker than expected, a crystal clear dark copper beneath a frothy head of off-white. The aroma is gently citrusy (grapefruit, orange), toasty, resinous, and somewhat piney. The flavor follows pretty much exactly as the aroma suggests. The citrus and resinous characteristics hit you first, followed by toastiness and some pine across the middle, and then both of those linger in the dry finish along with some residual solid bitterness. It's interesting because it's unusual, with the toasted malts adding another level to it and mixing well with the pine. It's also not just another "cookie cutter" west coast IPA which is nice because really why should everyone brew the same beer? This one's got a nice twist to it. It's medium bodied and crisp then smooth across the palate. Looking back I still have a solid surface covering and the lacing is quite nice with wide rings of craggy lacing left behind. The more I drink it the more I get used to its originality and the more I like it. It's a good thing it's a 32 oz. crowler because I'm going to want another pint after this one. Nicely done. Really well balanced and rounded, and unique. Worth trying.
