Poured from growler purchased 2 days prior. Dark black color with a finger of tan head. Heavy lacing is left down the glass. Aroma of pine resin, dark chocolate, and earth. Smells like a black IPA. And it tastes like one with a little bit of twist. Hoppy flavor to start with a lot of pine and herb upfront. Mellows with a nice chocolate malt flavor and finishes with a slight twang that probably comes from a hint of wheat. Is there wheat in this beer, the brewery only describes this as a dark ale. It's IBU's definitely put it in the IPA category. Part porter and part IPA. For a sub 6% ABV beer, this has a rich body. Nicely carbonated.
