Poured from a crowler into glass. Label not marked for fill date.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Slight, fizzy white head with initial pour, which quickly disappears, leaving a thin ring fed by rising bubbles. No lacing.
Aroma is mostly tart lemon, with a hint of rhubarb.
Taste is sour, with lemon flavor up front, and rhubarb flavor at the end. Dry finish. No funk.
Puckering mouth feel, with thin to medium body. Good carbonation.
I would like the rhubarb flavor to be more distinct, but the beer is plenty sour. Not complex, but still refreshing for what it is. The finish is dry enough, that the beer beckons for more follow up sips. As long as one is okay with a non-aged sour, this kettle sour displays no major flaws/off flavors.
