Collaboration with Lupulin Brewing
Introducing our first collaboration with our very good friends at Lupulin Brewing (Big Lake, MN): Schnitzendunkel! This classic dark lager is deliciously malty with some hints of chocolate too. If you're looking for a dark beer that is also a summertime easy-drinker, you've found it! Prost!

16 oz can into a pokal.
L: SRM 18 pours clear rusty reddish brown with lush steady carbonation, a thin light beige head that recedes to skin, medium-light scattered lacing.
S: Caramelized malts, pastries, cookie dough, a hint of brown bread.
T: Toasted grains, caramelized malts, a dash of cocoa, a suggestion of brown bread, very lightly fruity, a hint of red grape skin, slightly tangy, clean tasting overall.
F: Gently brisk then smooth feeling with a medium-fast finish that is fairly dry.
O: Toasty, smooth, tangy, and dry. Simple and very easy drinking. I would like this beer with grilled foods. It is excellent in its style.

On-tap at the brewery
Mahogany color and flavor - it tastes like wood. Not really, it has some cocoa and roasted malt notes, pretty decent while remaining very drinkable and good
Like another reviewer said, this is brewed very well

Not a style of beer a person sees brewed much at a small brewery and these guys did a good job. A nice flavorful, lighter beer alternative to all the hoppy beers.

At the brewery, served in their cool Pilsner pokal-like glass, looks great, a rich ruby-tinged brown, with a thin crown of off-white head...not much lacing. Nose is mild bready maltiness, with a little promise of some nuttiness, which the taste picks up and develops. On the whole, nice substantial and clean sunken taste...exactly what one would hope for from the style. There’s a faint little twang from something at the finish, though, for me, it is more than compensated by the great Munich malt notes.
