Solace Brewing

Wednesday early afternoon visit so it was quiet, but the server was very friendly and the space, although in an industrial park was nicely decorated and laid out. Plenty of seats to be had and a small patio. Brewery is in view through glass walls behind the bar and plenty of arcade attractions which I like but never seem to take advantage of when visiting a brewery even though I love pinball. They had 21 on tap when I was there, 9 of which were IPAs but with a decent showing of other styles; the quality of the ones I sampled was good. Growlers, crowlers and cans to go available.
Worth a visit.

Visited on June 22, 2022, during a business trip to North Virginia. The beer at this brewery were recommended by a friend who lives in the area. It a nice area inside. It was a very informal atmosphere.

Nice variety of beer for sale on tap and in cans, with a nice mix of different types of beers. I tried two different IPAs at the bar, and they were all fresh and tasty.

There was plenty of parking.

When ordering my beers, the bar tender was very friendly. I bought some 4-packs of some of their other beers to try later. Service was very quick.

The facility is a good size and clean. It has a retro look. Surprisingly, the facility was very busy on a Wednesday, and I was surprised at how many people were there.

Nice vibe, good service, and good beer. I would visit again when I am in the area.

 

 

One of the best marriages of taproom space and functional brewery I’ve seen. Just a phenomenal space with glassed-off views to the tanks. Solid selection of beers and solid quality, but nothing outstanding. Makes for a damn good hang time, though.

A place with a good atmosphere, a good selection of beers. A good brewery to relax and have some well made good beers. It is very close to another Brewery, so that helps.

Not much character on the outside but airy and open on the inside. Typical warehouse brewery setup.

IPA heavy taplist. I stuck to the IPAs and all were solid but not outstanding.

Best thing about this place from an out of towner’s point of view is the location. Close to the airport and easy to get in and out of. Good way to kill an hour or two before a flight.

 

 

 

My current favorite brewery. The large inside space is great and the staff is very friendly. The beer is delicious.

As the pic suggests, this is in an office complex. There was a food truck outside on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was full due to a World Cup match. The service was still very good despite the crowd, and the flight of 6 we ordered was very enjoyable.

Something new I had not seen before was a section in the taproom area sectioned off with a low wall designated for families, on the other side of the large room from the bar and a majority of the TVs. I have no problem with well behaved children at breweries (and none were causing a scene this day), but this divided area was a pleasant change of pace which is good for having children parties at a place where adults can drink.

I have never been there on weekends when there are food trucks, otherwise there are only snacks, but food may be carried in.
Very large, plain space, but it is new.
Good selection of styles, all good or outstanding.
Very friendly service.

 

This is a large taproom with open space, apparent AC, and a long bar. Just upscale of industrial, it could probably use a couple more picnic tables if the place starts to gain a following.

The beer list held eight beers although there are about 20 taps behind the bar. Growlers are allowed and they have a Crowler machine. The options leaned more heavily lighter in color, with pale ales, wits, and a lager. They also had a brown ale and a stout (and a DIPA on deck). Selection may improve as they ramp up.

All of the beers had a nice drinkability to them, even to the less adventurous (the stout and session IPA had the most aggressive flavors). They all seemed well made, if not aggressive, and I enjoyed drinking all of them. Choosing what was next was a hard choice.

The service was courteous and upbeat. The servers seemed knowledgeable about operations.

Definitely return visits are inthe cards for the future.
