Presentation: Draft, served in a pilsner glass.
Appearance: Completely black, with a thin, tan head and little lacing.
Smell: Mainly coffee and roasted malt with some lactose and brown sugar notes in the background.
Taste: The coffee and roasted malt notes dominate with vanilla, milk chocolate, brown sugar and a hint of hop bitterness at the end.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, smooth, slightly watery and a bit cloying. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Absolutely no coconut on the nose or palate, which is disappointing for a beer "brewed with toasted coconut", according to the brewery, and coconut ("coco") on the name. That said, as a milk stout, it's OK.
