Sampled 4/30/2011 at the Pizza Orgasmica at 2 Embarcadero Center in SF.
I was promised that this was almost as hoppy as the IPA, which had blown before we got there. I guess I can't hold it against the guy who probably doesnt know a whole lot about beer.
Pours dark red, clear, slightly off-white head, very little lacing and rention. The glass was filled pretty high. I wont complain about getting more beer, but some of those snobbier than I will complain about the lack of a proper head.
Aroma is sugar, a touch of cleaning solution/dishwasher detergent, caramel, and the slightest hint of chocolate.
Flavor is a bit more solventy, slightly boozy, some chocolate, caramel, and bitterness.
Body is medium, CO2 is a little low, as is drinkability.
