I visited Guangzhou to go to the US Consulate for a new Passport, and found out that literally down the street is a local craft brewery, open for the CBD crowd. Bravo Brewing Company is welcoming, chill, and best of all, has a pretty good beer selection.
For their taps, they have a rotation of about 10 of their own beers coupled with about five from other breweries (some Chinese, some foreign). Sampler Flights are offered as are two (IPA & Belgian Wit) in bottles to take home. They do Growlers too if you are that committed.
The brewpub actually doubles as a showroom for vats and other brewing hardware, with most of the examples showcased in-house, used to make their beer they offer.
Pairing with the elixirs is a decent Western-food menu, which again, is probably aimed at the local international offices, as who doesn't want an IPA and "Brewery Nachos" for lunch?
During each of my two visits (drop-off and pick-up) I have tried each of their own brews as well as a few of their menu items. From the sampler flight to full pints to taking home their two bottles, I would recommend Bravo Brewing Company to anyone looking for good craft beer in Guangzhou, whether you are near the CBD or not...
