This has "Kolsch" written in big letters, then in smaller letters under "ginger, orange, coriander" so not sure how much I'll like this.
Pours a med foamy frothy head with fair retention, a bit of lacing, very hazy med orange color
Nose has no kolsch but plenty of spices, ginger and orange peel up front, a little sweet valencia orange, coriander in the background, little sweet candy, that's about it
Taste has a little kolsch base, light grainy malt, soft lagered ale yeast, then spices dominate, again plenty of ginger up front without overpowering, then sweet orange peel, again that valencia orange with some sweet orange marmalade notes, then light coriander in the background. Drier finish with med bitterness kicking in
Mouth is med to lighter bod, med-higher frothy carb
Overall it's not bad, definitely delivers on all the spices and fruit that it promised, and thankfully not too overpowering, but base beer is all but gone
