On draft at Hoops Brewing. Poured a cloudy, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing on the glass. It smelled of banana, clove and cracked wheat. Sweet wheat taste with banana and spices.

 

On tap. White head. Very lightly cloudy golden color.

This is much more like a hefe than the 289. Smooth, soft feel. Bananas, cloves, bubblegum, wheat, coriander, spice. Solid.

 

 

 

 

 

Original review: From notes from early August, a crowler picked up en route to the North Shore, this was the worst beer of the three I got by quite a bit. Some faint clove and banana, but dull, but when it hits the lips it loses the little promise of the nose...there's also some kind of sour wheat in there. The mouthful is a negative...oily and coating, but also kind of thin.

Trying this again, years later, on tap into a shaker. Much improved and scores adjusted. Happy to have this one now.

 

This one pours a clear golden color with a soft white head. Just slight smells of banana and clove . Taste is thin and watery very little Hefe taste's has a wheat finish. Mouth feel had low carbonation and a bland non plussed taste. As i type this Hoops has a 2nd batch which ive not tasted yet. Wow this is hard to write this review because of the man behind this brewery , i will go try this when ever im in Duluth, and am confident this will be edited to a 4+ or better.
