This beer is very dark copper and brilliantly clear. A big, beige foam is tight without leaving lace. The head holds at one-half inch for the duration.
The aroma is an equal mix of strong malt and sweet honey, combined to leave a rich impression from a PBGC Aromatic Snifter. Fresh white bread is also evident.
The flavor is sweet with faint bitterness. Honey is faint, while the grains and caramel are showcased. The finish is long and mild. Warmth brings out a variety of spices.
The smooth and creamy texture accentuates the medium to full body. Carbonation is explosive and fizzy, perhaps helping to keep the alcohol well below expectation.
This is a good drinking beer, though perhaps difficult to pair with food. Better at temperature. Wamth is not recommended.
