A traditional German-style Hefeweizen loaded with clove, spices, and just the right amount of banana. Our special German yeast is left unfiltered, so expect a softly golden, cloudy appearance.

12 oz can, poured into a weizen glass at 40 degrees F.
L: Your typical cloudy straw gold, with a thick head of white foam. Not great retention, spotty lacing.
S: Not terribly estery, and not exactly promising. Wheat and coriander, with little else going on.
T: Exactly as the nose implied, this is largely a coriander experience. Some faint clove, not much to speak of in the way of esters.
F: Toward the full side of medium, so a tad light for a hefe.
O: A reasonable attempt at a hefe, but typical for most US attempts.

Look - very very slight hazy slightly tan yellow color with a slight head. to clear for a hefe
Smell - slight banana but more clove and wheat smell, slight funky
Taste - slight floral grainy wheat and slight clove with a tiny banana taste in there
Feel - medium body and heavy carb carbonation
Overall - could use a little more banana and less carbonation.

Hefeweizen is my favorite beer style. This one I did not like too much. To me, a Hefeweizen needs this distinctive Banana and Yeast taste. I missed that completely.
