Deep-brown, bordering on black, this porter boasts a malty aroma filled with chocolate notes and a hint of roast. Malt sweetness pairs with flavors of baker’s chocolate and lightly piney hops for a smooth, full-bodied drink with just enough bitterness to keep it balanced.

I shared a 12oz can of this beer at the brewery with a contingent of the Oswego Posse. It poured a clear an opaque dark with thin khaki head that did not leave much lace. The scent had dark malt and subtle chocolate roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good rich malt base with peat, chocolate and roast presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Bought a can of this beer during a recent visit to Cincinnati.
Poured into a tulip glass. Dark brown color with excellent creamy beige head and curtain lacing. Somewhat subdued smell of chocolate and pumpernickel bread, but the taste is nice and robust, as the can says. Smooth, full feel. A beer I would get again.

This is a solid brew, nothing fancy, just done right.
In a time where all are going for the "peanut butter raspberry whatnot beer", it is nice to see that there are still breweries that make an effort to brew a good traditional style.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This solid little porter
pours a dark brownish black with thin tea highlights
and a nice head of khaki foam that subsides to a thick
ring, thin wafting layer, and displays some nice lacing.
Nose of assertive herbal hops, toasted malts, light pine,
and dark cocoa. Flavors lightly surpass the nose with
dark coffee, dark cocoa, herbal hops, pine touched
hops, deep roast, moderate char, and a dash of
vanilla. Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium
light carbonation, coating, smooth, and finishing
with a dry, bitter malt note.
Overall, a solid little porter in the American style
Cheers
