We infused our Imperial Stout with some cold-brewed coffee from local roaster Deeper Roots. The roasty aromas of coffee meld with the beer's notes of chocolate, raisins, roast, and a light peppery note. More coffee leads the flavor, with sweet malt flavors of dark fruits before being carried away by roast and ending in a fairly dry finish that keeps this beer drinkable.

16 ounce can, 11/14/24 stamped on the bottom of the can. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a BeerAdvocate chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so frothy tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. Aroma is nice, I think the coffee stands out, along with some cocoa, roasted malt, and dark breadiness. As with the aroma, in the taste I think the coffee is stronger compared to the other flavors (dark bread, dark chocolate, burnt/charred malt, cream, blackberries) but doesn't overpower them either. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's rich and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this one, certainly worth picking up especially if you like imperial coffee stouts!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This excellent imperial pours a pitch black with
a nice head of light brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and displays
some very nice lacing. Nose of coffee, chocolate, char, roast, and dark fruit notes
amongst some brulee. Flavors exceed the nose with all the right notes in the right
places. Dark bakers chocolate drenched in cold pressed coffee, deep roast, nicely
balanced char, brulee amongst some cream, spicy hop elements, astringent booze
touches, and dark berry notes of black, blue, and dark raisin bread. Mouth feel is
full, smooth, rich, coating, lightly warming, lightly slick, light carbonation, and a
rich bitter malt finish.

Overall, love this brewery and literally everything I have had there!

Cheers!!!!

At the brewery,
Pitch black with patches of lacing.
Aroma has subtle notes of coffee.
Coffee taste is much more than the nose suggest but delivered very smooth with just a hint of bitterness..
