Prost to Cincinnati’s true heritage food, goetta! Rich mahogany with a khaki head, this ale has aromas of chocolate, bread crust, and pumpernickel bread. Oats contribute to a smooth body and medium finish.

Poured from 12-ounce can, dark amber, clear, with tan head quickly fizzing out. I smell the chocolate advertised on the can, caramel, dark toasty amber malt, and onion. Tastes of sweet malt, toasty malt, caramel, and onion. Medium-high hop bitterness. Finish is balanced. Medium body, high carbonation, somewhat smooth. The goetta character is pretty light so this is mostly an amber ale, which isn't bad.
