16 ounce can, canned 06/20/24. Big thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a cloudy reddish/amber color with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both OK. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like sherry, along with some rum, dates, dark fruit and brown sugar. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some raisin, oak and earthy flavors noticeable too. As with the aroma I think the sherry stands out here, but doesn't overpower the other flavors either. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit slick and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this barleywine a lot, but recommend this more to people who like sherry. Would like to try this one again in the future!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This nice barelywine pours a dark
and murky red tinged mahogany with a nice head of off white foam that
sizzles to a thick ring with subtle lacing and nice legs. Nose of strong sherry,
Madeira, astringent booze, dark rum, brown sugars, and date bread. Flavors
follow the nose with more Madeira than sherry wine notes, rum follow more mid taste
with brown sugars and dates on the back with a touch of moist oak and herbal notes
of light anise. Mouth feel is medium, light carbonation, warming, a bit bracing, strong,
and....I can't feel my face.
Of note, strawberry jam and coconut come through with warmth.
Overall, a WOW brew that is a fine splitter, a fine sipper, and an imperial behemoth
to be reckoned with.
NICE!
Cheers
