Rollin’ Deep is a sweet, sticky stout made with rich caramel, chocolate malts and cinnamon. For that fresh-from-a-food-court, piping hot, sticky bun flavor.

You won’t believe your mouth. This is what a cinnamon roll will taste like in heaven. Who thought you even needed to improve on the cinnamon roll in the first place!
This will roll onto your mouth like a fresh piece of baked bread and leave the tip of your tongue to tingle as the sugar and cinnamon wakes you up.

My brother who lives in Atlanta gave me a 6 pack of beers from local breweries from there. I always like trying beer from other small, regional craft breweries who's stuff doesn't get distributed where I live, so this was a very cool Christmas gift from my brother. Poured out of a 12 oz can into my tulip glass, this beer pours a very dark brown, almost black color that's not at all interested in letting in any light whatsoever. Has a creamy looking, brown/tan head that's about an inch thick when poured that settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with a nice, creamy looking, coating of foam on the beer's surface Not much lacing. Aromas of bready, roasted malts, cinnamon and caramel along with some cocoa. Flavors of the aforementioned bready, roasted malts are immediately followed by cinnamon, caramel, and chocolate sweetness along with a lactic milk sugar. Just a touch of earthy hops with a slight bitterness. A really excellent flavor profile here. Everything really blends together very nicely once the beer has sat and warmed up a bit. The flavor profile is just so damn tasty! The sweetness level is perfect for me for a beer of this style. Has a slightly crisp, mainly smooth and creamy, frothy medium to full bodied mouthfeel. This really has the perfect mouthfeel for the flavor profile. Has a very clean finish, and the sweet flavors that all mesh together so well. Wow!

12 ounce can with no date seen. Poured into tulip.
Pours chestnut brown, about a finger’s worth of light tan head. In the glass, it appears a dark brown with a settled down head of a small ring around the glass.
The nose is cinnamon, cola, s bit of doughy malts and the slightest of green apple.
On taste, Cinnamon is there, root beer, bit of doughy presence. And that ever so hint of a tart green apple. It’s unfortunate and I believe this is not that old. When I breath out my nose it’s a definite cinnamon roll with that fresh baked dough, and spicy cinnamon.
Medium body and slick finish.
Overall, it’s disappointing. That slight bit of tart really takes away from the potential of the beer.

This beer pours a flat mahogany with a slim tan head that dissipates into a weak rim clinger.
The aroma is straight out of the doughnut shop.
The flavor is a combination between a cinnamon bun and a chocolate eclair, and that is absolutely incredible.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied.
Overall, this is an outstanding Imperial stout.

Appearance: Pours a matte black body with a head that quickly evaporates.

Smell: Surprisingly, it's not particularly aromatic. A nibble of apple and a tablespoon of cinnamon powder, at most, leaving it pretty one-note.

Taste: A thin, thin touch of roasted malt, though plenty of sugar with a strong sense of orchard apple and a hearty dose of cinnamon with a little ripple of alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Relatively light carbonation.

Overall: Ehh. While the attempt is noted and appreciated, it did not work for me, as it feels like an underperforming stout on a few fronts concealed with a pop of cinnamon.

12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 2.99. Canned 10/4/18. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku. Enjoyed 10/25/18.

Pours black with a fluffy cap of pale khaki head. That initial froth distills down, leaving no lace and surprisingly little retention.

Sweet aromas of cinnamon, caramel, glazed pastry and a little bit of over toasted character.

Flavors of fresh cinnamon roll, mild cocoa, caramel, milk sugar, roasted malt and a little booze. Quite tasty.

Smooth, creamy, medium full body. The aftertaste continues the cinnamon roll theme.

My first stout from Wild Leap doesn’t disappoint. Rollin’ Deep puts their sweet spin on an impressive milk stout. I’ll be enjoying more of this in the future.
