Rating this at the same time I’m rating Volume 6.
This may have the age disadvantage, probably faded already,
Color is a bit yellow/tan shade of orange. Smell is grassy, malty, slightly citrusy.
Taste is tangy and bitter, a bit of a malty undertone, a little citrusy juiciness to it.
Feel is medium bodied, slightly drying, definite boozy presence.
Good example of the style, would probably rate it higher fresher.

No freshness date. Poured into a Duvel tulip.
Hazy apricot with short-lived off-white foamy head with spare scraps of lacing.
Heavy mango, guava, peach, and apricot with lighter orange and lime citrus. Don’t get much of any vinous, grape character I was expecting given heavy dry hopping with Nelson Sauvin per the can.
Flavor has very bright hop character with floral and orange citrus qualities throughout but with more tropical flavors like guava, pineapple, passion fruit, and mango. More peach and apricot in the aftertaste. Low bitterness.
Feel is decent but I never have been a big fan of the blah NEIPA soft feel. Medium bodied with low carbonation.
Excellent beer from Wild Leap — thanks Erinn for the chance to check it out!

L - 2-finger dense, offwhite head atop a dirty orange body.
S - tangerine, orange, grapefruit, herb.
T - orange vape. Sweet orange candy enveloped in dankness. Grapefruit, melon, tree bark, dirt, gym socks, sour lemon. Moderate-low bitterness. Moderate-low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - not a Nelson fan, but it’s used well here.

12 oz can from the Wall of Beer (Clemson, SC) with a 25 January 2019 canning(?) date stamp.
Pours hazy, light amber with a bone colored, long lived head of moderate size that leaves ample sticky lacing clinging to the glass.
Aroma: hops with orange, grapefruit and other vague tropical fruit notes along with a subtle suggestion of white wine. A bit pungent and boozy.
Flavor: hop forward with a strong fruity flavor with faint hints of wine, tangerines, and grapefruit. Moderately bitter, at most, for style.
Feel: medium+ body with medium carbonation.

12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 13.99/ 6 pack. Canned 1/29/19. Served in a Wild Leap teku. Enjoyed 2/1/19.
Pours a pale, opaque orangish yellow with generous cap of white froth. Decent retention with a surface layer, full band around the edges and some chains of lace, particularly where the initial head rested.
Smells of melon, stone fruit, citrus, pineapple and some faint cakey sweetness.
Flavor is bursting with juicy hops. White grapes, melon rind, citrus, piney mango, black pepper and a mild sweetness.
Medium full feel with pillowy carbonation. The aftertaste is like white grape juice with tropical and citrus hop cakes.
Wild Leap is keeping their streak alive with the fifth installment in their Alpha Abstraction series. This batch celebrates Nelson Sauvin with all its grape, tropical piney mango and mild spice character. This is another tasting that reinforces my obsession with fresh IPAs, as at only 3 days old the hop flavors and aromas are amazingly vivid. Buy with confidence!
