L - 1-finger offwhite head quickly recedes, leaving behind a murky yellow body.

S - weird! Brisket, cheese, socks, a little citrus.

T - gym socks, soap, grapefruit, sweet orange, edible chalk, liquid smoke, anise. Low bitterness. Moderate-low sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - tastes bizarre, but I’m digging it.

Definitely my favorite out of the Aplha Series. The lotus hop adds a nice, unique flavor to the overall taste of the beer

Rating this at the same time I’m rating Volume 5.
This might have a slight advantage due to being fresher and 5 fading a bit.
Dark cloudy orange appearance with lightly fluffy lacing.
Smell is tangy fruit-lemon, mango, slight peach.
Taste is juicy and citrusy with orange and lemon with some mango and peach underneath.
Light to medium bodied, gently dry finish, subtle alcohol presence.

Cloudy body; peach orange hue; decent head, fairly thick and frothy although thin; some patchy globs of foam sticking to the glass. Outstanding aroma, powerful and room filling; orange, papaya, pineapple. Taste is like fresh-squeezed orange juice; light bread; acidic; strong hop bitterness from midpoint and through the finish. Medium-heavy body; dry and astringent yet with an overarching citrus juiciness to the mouthfeel.

The aroma is fantastic on this beer, dominating most of the other sensory areas. There is no packing date information on the can, so who knows how fresh this beer is (although Vol. 7 is already out). I'm guessing this one is several months old, so perhaps the taste and mouthfeel suffer a bit. Still, this is a mighty fine juice bomb IPA and a pleasure to experience.
