This one was disappointing as I love this Atlanta brewery and I expected better things from this sweet milk stout. Date was smudged on bottom of can and illegible. Pours a dark almost black opaque color with just a little tan head and small soapy areas of lingering lacing. Smells somewhat faintly of milk chocolate, medium roast coffee, a little malt and vanilla. Tastes similarly, but again the flavors were quite faint and distant - surprisingly not rich and flavorful, and no real depth to it at all. Even as the beer warmed the flavors didn't come through much. Mild thin mouthfeel, not particularly rich or chewy, decent carbonation. I would definitely go for other stouts from this brewery.

A: The beer is very close to being jet black in color, having traces of dark reddish brown near the edges of the glass when held up to a bright light. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of vanilla are present in the nose along with notes of lactose and hints of chocolate.
T: The taste has lots of flavors of lactose and vanilla along with notes of vanilla.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer makes for a nice dessert stout with all of the vanilla and lactose flavors and the bits of associated sweetness. It does a very good job at hiding any traces of alcohol from the taste.
