12 oz can with a 28 April 2021 canning date stamped on the bottom. This was served in a Belgian snifter where it displayed an essentially opaque and nearly black body with dark reddish-brown edges. The head was short and somewhat short lived but my pour was gentle.
Even after smelling and tasting the beer, I was quite surprised to see the ABV of 12.5% printed on the can. There's a definite alcohol presence but it seems closer to 6% than to 12% ABV.
This is sweet but not cloying due in part to the flavor profile that features a strong chocolate component. In addition, the aftertaste is mildly bitter.
Overall. Rich and flavorful, this makes a fine after dinner or dessert beer.
