Released on 11/15/2024 in connection with a label rebranding, Celis calls this a "Belgian Waffle Stout" consisting of ale brewed with maple syrup, waffles, vanilla, and coffee! In look, taste and feel it's about as far as you can get from Celis White, but not in a bad way. Poured into a stout glass, this unusual beer has a thick head that takes a while to dissipate. Aroma and appearance of root beer. Not as heavy as a coffee stout, but strongly flavored and complex without being bitter or unpleasant. Only a bit sweet, with definite notes of maple, coffee and yeast. Very drinkable, and would pair well with chocolate and desserts, mashed potatoes with bacon, and, yes, brunch in general. Celis has a real winner in this.
