In Bogota I had a chance to visit Palos De Moguer bar and try the Colon beers they have on tap. The first one I had was the Colon Light and I thought is was pretty good. I see why now....BA has tagged it a Kolsch...not a light. The appearance is pale yellow with decent head. The smell had citrus and grain. The taste was not bad....had a hoppy to start then grain. The beer came off the pallet clean. Was a very smooth and easy drinking beer...great for summer.

I took the chance to re-review this beer this year because of the recent image change Palos de Moguer has gone through.

Although i'm still not too amazed at their beers, i do feel they have improved considerably.

I acquired this 'Light' at a market in Bogota. Pour is a very bright and shiny golden hue with a clean crisp white head which fades fairly quickly. quite carbonnated.

Smell is dominantly hoppy. Grassy taste, a bit watery but i guess it's the norm for koelsches and i've started this year trying to accept rather than reject that german gender. subtle malty metallic taste afterwards overwhelmed by a 'green' hoppy feel. carbonation overtakes and the overall experience is short.

It's an alright beer which can be consumed regularly. not my regular, but it's not too shabby.

Bottle smell is sweet and slightly fuity. Pours to a pale bright yellow with a two finger head that recedes to a 1/4 inch head. Bubbles stream from the bottom like a TV beer. Taste is very light. Lots of floral hop notes, only slightly bitter. Crisp and very refreshing. Mouthfeel is thin but not watery. For an AC of 5% you'd never know in a beer this light. On the mark for the style. I could drink this beer all day long. This mocks any BMC light beer.
