Two-finger starting head that settles in a lumpy fashion. Dirty gold color with a definitive haze. Some minor spotting on the glass as the beer is consumed.
More hoppy nose and less crisp than I expect from the style. It's attractive but quite APA-like. Good, clean malt which is overshadowed by the white pepper bitterness.
Higher carbonation with a neutral to thinner body. The pale malt base is dry and brief on the tongue. Like the smell, bitterness comes through strongly by Kölsch standards. Again, the beer seems closer to a Pale Ale IMHO. Not a bad beer, just not what one would expect.
