fantastic spot right downtown, a great hang for college football and a couple of early in the day hangover beers. a neat old building with a little patio space on the parking lot side of the building when the weather is better, looks fun out there but was all shut down in winter when we visited. inside its a happening bar, a long bar and a high rail totally packed when we walked in, a couple of seating areas around as well, a little merch shop up front, and servers flying around, old brick, restored industrial feel, we ended up in a much more chill upstairs zone, a lounge in front of a big tv with a couch and some relaxing chairs, there is a full bar upstairs too, this place can accommodate a fair few people! a nice beer list in here, good mix of fundamental styles and then some more ambitious barrel aged and strong ales for the season as well. i enjoyed a kolsch, a pretty standard fare pale lager with a little body, and most interestingly a strawberry chocolate stout on nitro, all were pretty good, none mind blowing, but it was too early in the day to start ripping the more exotic selections. the service was fantastic, prompt and friendly, and they make a mean bloody mary too. they have a full menu as well, which we didnt even peruse, but definitely a spot to post up and watch a bunch of games, so next time maybe we will make a day of it. relaxing environs with more aesthetic and structural intrigue than a typical sports bar, a homey feel for how big it is, a solid selection of beers, really enjoyable visit! would be intimate and even cozy i suspect on a weekday evening when things are more chill. real cool.
