12 oz can, dated 2/22/19 into a Calusa snifter.
Pours a reddish-brown tint with a medium-to-dark brown body and a creamy head of 1/2 finger that recedes gradually to a ring. Slight lace left behind.
Aromas of cake, fudge topping, fig, coffee, earth, ash, and tobacco.
Flavor is just flat out bad. Brings nasty fig and chewing tobacco straight out, with some smoke and more expired dark shriveled fruit. A slight redeeming quality of vanilla afterwards. Due to age? I dunno.
Feel is slick and has some good carbonation, medium bodied, slightly roasty on the finish.
Overall, not sure if it's due to age, but this beer is going straight to the drain. I can't finish it - it's just so robust in its nastiness.
Price paid : $2.29 / can
Would buy again : not unless it were very fresh to prevent this from happening

Had it from tap in a small snifter. Poured a dark brown with an excellent head and great lacing. Caramel smell and taste. Not overly sweet with subtle flavors of vanilla and cherries. Enjoyable and comforting beer.

I had this beer on draft at Sedona Taphouse in Nashville. Very good beer, easy to drink with hints of vanilla, cherry and malt.

Poured from can into goblet glass.
Look:
Mahogany, deep ruby red with a finger-thick beige head that thins quickly to a thin rim with light lacing.
Smell:
Vanilla custard with hints of cherry, currant and candy sugar. No hops.
Taste:
Beautiful, strong rooibos flavor with hints of vanilla, cherry, and coffee. Sweet and rich but not cloying. Rooibos and vanilla remain present while flavors disperse into a long but not overpowering bitterness.
Mouthfeel:
Excellent, full-bodied creamy texture with moderate effervescence.
Overall: this is a lovely, extremely enjoyable beer for a cold winter evening. Full body and lots of warming flavors while not overpowering. Really nice balance between sweet and bitter. Thoroughly enjoyable. Can’t wait for the next one.
