Copenhagen 19/6 2020. 33 cl can from Kvickly, Allerød. Stylized drawing of what looks like a waffle being soaked in chocolate on the can.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a huge, light beige head. Stable. Settles as several centimeters thick, fluffy, layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. moerate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense - probably dampened by the massive amount of foam - with a strong sweet odor of brown sugar, banana, caramel. Roasted dark malts. Light notes of coffee and tobacco. Some dark alcohol rummaging in the background.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a medium strong coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a sneaky, bitter undercurrent. Lingering. Light, boozy burn in the finish.
Not as cloying as the name would lead me to expect. A pastry beer with just enough bitterness to avoid being altogether too much.
