A: The beer is black when viewed from afar but when viewed closely the edges of the beer are dark reddish brown in color. It poured with a short tan head that quickly died down leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of licorice are present in the nose along with hints of soy sauce.
T: The taste follows the smell, having stronger flavors of soy sauce and additional notes of dark malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and only a bit smooth on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is rather thin on the palate and hardly smooth for being an oatmeal stout. It could definitely use a stronger body and better flavors.
