Notes about the brew:
Brewed with our friends from Establishment Brewing for Neighbour Day, this is Your Belgian Things. Instead of buying a pitchable quantity of yeast, we grew up a homebrew batch of Belgian strong ale yeast to make enough for a 3000L. Which was a fun experiment for all of us. This is a style bending Belgian Table beer. Coming in at 5.1%, it's light dry, and super sessionable. It's almost 100% Origin malting Pilsen malt, which was later dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy. Fruity, clove and banana spiciness with a touch of white grape and guava.
Appearance - Pours a hazy gold with three fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - spicy belgian yeast, clove, banana, fruity esters, spicy earthy, citrus, and floral hops, and bready malts.
Taste - spicy belgian yeast upfront. Then it goes into the clove, banana, fruity esters, and spicy earthy, citrus, and floral hops. The brew is rounded out by a hint of grape and other tropical fruits and bready malts.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes sticky with all elements lingering.
Overall - A pleasant and highly sessionable BPA from Annex and The Establishment. It's nice to finally see these two breweries do a collab with one another.
