San Diego Style IPA
We've learned a thing or two about juiciness in the haze craze, but let's face it - it's ok to be a little bitter these days. Can you believe we've been making IPAs where bitterness was considered a fault? What kinda world are we living in? Actually, don't answer that. Instead, let's just rewind back to 2015, where 6.5% was strong, IPAs were clear and the hops were bitter and piney, and let us introduce you to some old friends: Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo and Chinook.

Appearance - Pours a slightly hazy amber gold with three fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - piney, citrus, earthy, leafy, and floral hops, pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel, bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - bold piney hops upfront followed by the citrus, earthy, leafy, and floral hops. The pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel come through next. The caramel. bready malts, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops, pine resin, and grapefruit peel lingering.
Overall - A well crafted West Coast IPA that leans towards the piney and pine resin side of things. This one would definitely please those that are into the true old school West Coast IPAs.

Beautifully clear bright golden pour with two fingers creamy off white tawny coloured head - creamy cap.
Big piney hops on the nose - resinous - as head fades there is an aroma of grainy cereal malt, slightly floral note with hints of melon, peach and citrus.
Taste starts with a crisp clean malt sweetness - hint of caramel, but the hops quickly take over with a burst of resinous pine, grapefruit peel, and a building back of palate bitterness.
Medium mouthfeel - brightly carbonated, crisp, clean with sharp resinous bitterness that coats and lingers on the back of the tongue and throat.
Throwback Thursday - fantastic.
