Annex Ale Project + 2 Crows Brewing
Triple IPA with Phantasm
A Triple IPA seemed like the only way to mark our third two-crew-brew with 2 Crows. This beer was hopped to high heaven even before Phantasm's thiol-boosting hop performance powder was added to this punch bowl to unlock even more tropical, citrusy zest. It's practically magic.

Bit of chill haze on a near clear bright golden pour with two fingers of creamy white head , fading slowly to an irregular bubbly cap. Few months on this can - on me.
Piney nose on the can, in glass tropical fruit - pineapple, mango - notes of tangerine, over ripe citrus, a mildly herbal note and caramel malt base.
Sweet over ripe citrus on the palate, pineapple, a bit of ripe peach, apricot note with a hint of caramel malt; some boozy heat and resinous piney bitterness.
Full mouthfeel - bittersweet and sticky with again the boozy warmth at the end.

Third collaboration between Annex Ale Project and 2 Crows Brewing.

Appearance - Pours a clear honey amber with three fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - Tropical and citrus fruits/hops (Mango, orange, guava, pineapple), bready caramel malts, little bit of stonefruit (peach), gooseberry.

Taste - Sweet and bitter tropical/citrus hop flavours, followed by the vinous Sauvignon Blanc characteristics of Phantasm, bready malts and a caramel sweetness. ABV is somewhat noticeable.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Sticky feeling left on the palate.

Overall - A wonderful collaboration between Annex and 2 Crows that showcases their thoughtful approach to brewing. The use of Phantasm could quickly make this beer lean towards the NEIPA style, but these brewers kept the flavours within the Triple IPA guide posts.
