16oz tallboy can, media sample from the brewery.
Pale milky hazy looking brew, decent lacing on top but this brew is hazy AF. Piney, orangey, passion fruit, and wild herbs in the nose. Medium bodied with a slickness and smoothness. Juicy, rind, zest, a little prickly from the hops and alcohol. Alcohol is warming but not over the top. Tropical fruit meets a green tea bitterness, there is some maltiness within that helps to balance.
Enjoyable to sip, albeit its a strange brew to look at. If you can get past the haze then you'll dig this beer for sure.

16oz can dated 2/27/19.
Pours cloudy yellow with an inch of white fluff. Retention and lacing are moderate. Pungently hoppy and citrusy. Candied peach, white grape, mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. Medium bodied with a tacky, almost chewy mouthfeel. Sweet citrus with zero malt and boozy undertones on the palate. Peach, pineapple, grapefruit, and tangerine. Finishes boozy, juicy, and a bit sweet.

Drank from a 16 fl oz (1 pint) can purchased at Fort Point Market, Boston, MA

Served in a tulip
Hazy, pale straw yellow appearance. Slightly short of cloudy. The body was topped by a small, finely bubbled white crown that quickly dropped to a thin, resilient collar. No lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was outstanding. Tropical fruit notes leapt from the glass. Loads of fragrant mango and guava. Big ripe peach presence too. Really punchy and sweet. Bit of juicy tangerine as well. The mango intensified later. Dried mango came to mind. Cantaloupe notes also appeared.
The flavor was similar to the nose but more pithy and bitter. Big, rich tropical fruitiness on the front end. Ripe mango notes were apparent. Tangerine flesh was noticeable in the center. Slightly tart. Bit of rind-like pithiness. Resiny white grapefruit notes kicked in on the back end and crescendoed in the finish. Quite dry and bitter. With time, the bitterness mellowed and the sweetness came forth.
Fantastic frothy, fluffy mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. Surprisingly light and lively on the palate yet also creamy and supple. The liquid contained a fine, zippy, tongue blanketing effervescence.
Triple IPAs have a tendency to be syrupy sweet, bracingly bitter and/or heavy on the palate, but Venon of Cerberus was none of these. Judging by the other beers I have tried by River Styx Brewing thus far, it seems like we may soon have another Massachusetts destination brewery.

Great New England Triple IPA - my favorite IPA from River Styx - hazy hoppy and not too bitter - nice aroma and smooth - does not drink like a 10% beer

Delightful look and feel. Hides the alcohol level well, and I don't taste any typical hop bitterness. This is one of the best IPA style beers I've ever tasted.
