Drank from a 16 fl oz (1 pint) can purchased at Fenway Beer Shop, Boston, MA

Served in a tulip
Full bodied, near pitch black appearance. The liquid was topped by a frothy, finger-tall, saddle brown head that dissolved rather quickly. In the glass, the beer looked oily, viscous and completely pitch black.
The nose was super chocolatey and rich. Dark chocolate specifically. Chocolate fudge perhaps. Some caramel-like sweetness was also noticeable. Creamy lactose notes were apparent as well. Good dose of vanilla too. Coconut was detectable with time. Both the vanilla and the lactose notes intensified later.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but not quite as punchy. Chocolate notes again came through strong. Dark chocolate for sure. Creamy lactose notes appeared in the center. Lots of vanilla as well. Quite sweet overall. Some roasted malt character was noticeable on the back end and carried into the finish. Hint of booze and bitterness. For 11%, however, the alcohol was very well buried.
Nice rich, creamy, slick mouthfeel. Fuller bodied for the style. The liquid contained a super fine, moderate effervescence that tuned fluffy and smooth on the palate.
River Styx pastry stouts are typically sweet to the point of being artificial tasting but so enjoyable, and Coconut Eros was no exception. I definitely consider these beers to be guilty pleasures.

This one is the best variant of Eros yet - let it warm up - the coconut really comes forward when you do this. Smooth, Hides the booze well - dark in color - tastes just like oreos!
