Pours a turbid burgundy-brown that has a berry smoothie look to it. Head is a couple fingers of khaki foam. Aroma is blueberry, toffee, raisins, vanilla bean, and plum with bready and caramely malts behind. While it leans into sugary, it isn't all sweet. Flavor profile is fig, raisins, plum, blueberry, vanilla bean, and chocolate. Caramel, and toffee malts come on behind, but it really leans into the initial sweetness. Blueberry and vanilla bean linger throughout, in some sort of ice cream arrangement. Flavor profile carries more dynamic shift from start to finish than the nose, but it's not by much. Bright side is it never reaches a cloying level of sweetness from the flavor additions. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a consistent velvety texture from start to finish. It drinks heavy, but in a positive way. Overall, blueberries and vanilla add a consistent soothing sweetness, unfortunately, at the cost of smoothing over the dynamics of the underlying barleywine in terms of aroma and flavor profile.

Great Barleywine!
Nice notes of, blueberry, vanilla and chocolate. Looks and smells great, just like the blend.
