Even on paper this sounds weird, but I pulled the trigger and gave it a whirl. Pours a beautiful red/violet hue that is pretty opaque. On the nose I detected a bit of funk intermingled with currants. All of the flavors were also there. I was able to pickup the currants, maple, and the marshmallow was a feint presence in the background. Afterwards, I got a bit of an acidic reaction. All in all, a well executed beer, but to me, the flavors do not work together.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice mostly clear purple with a one finger head that fades super slow to leave light lacing and a creamy blanket.
S - Aromas of enormous maple syrup, it overpowers the fruit completely overwhelmed. There is nice toasted marshmallow on it as well.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with big creamy marshmallow along with an enormous amount of fresh maple syrup. It's like fresh maple syrup! Incredibly impressive! Some good toasty oak, as well as little tartness on the finish.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, however, the finish isn't flemmy so that's nice.
O - Overall this was a very solid wild ale. Really interesting combination. The maple is absolutely enormous!

Thanks to rudzud
nice pillowy pinkish large head fades at a slower pace, nice lacing, mostly hazy cranberry chestnut color, better head, retention and lacing from the original
NOse is basically all maple, maple walnut ice cream thanks to combination of everything, a touch of buttery toasted oak, mild marshmallow, no fruit, no tartness, no wine
Taste again is all maple, almost straight from the tree but added toasted and cooked maple flavors, a very nice maple, a little toasted marshmallow with a little maple walnut like thing again, faint faint black currant and tartness mostly drowned out, touch flemmy tart finish
Mouth is med bod, decent fizzy carb, fair sour acidity and little flemmy
Overall not as good as the original, maple just destroys everything, mild flashes of black currant on the taste, and the maple is a really nice maple are the only saving graces for this
