A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep purple beer which is topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of pink colored head that fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of sour blackberries, a hint of cinnamon, a crust like note, and a touch of vanilla. Such a sniffable beer.
T: Taste is sour blackberries up front with that crust like malt note, some cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla. On the swallow there's a sharp lemony twang, malty crust, blackberries, and cinnamon.
M: This beer has a body which is on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is somewhat low but it is still adequate for the style. The beer has a drying finish due to the acidity.
O: Overall this beer is everything it sets out to be. It tastes like a slice of pie in beer form. Really nice complexity along with a good bit of drinkability. Well worth trying and one that I would like to try again.
