A: Poured into a Duvel Tulip to a deep red which is nearly brown in color. The beer is topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger and a half of off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of strawberries and some pleasant funky brett notes along with a little vanilla. Hints of chocolate on the nose.
T: Taste is strawberries and a hint of horseblanket up front with some pleasant sourness, hints of vanilla and a touch of chocolate. On the swallow it's more strawberries and sourness with a little more funk, slight vanilla and a hint of chocolate. Very strawberry forward on the palate but well done.
M: This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a slightly syrupy body. Carbonation starts prickly but quickly subsides while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this one does most everything it claims. The adjuncts aside from the strawberries are somewhat hidden but they do seem to come out more as the beer warms.
