Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one finger head (the bottle was a modest gusher); fair retention and a few shards
Smell: Funky and acetic with a lemon and green apple tone; the red wine barrel also leaves an impression
Taste: Acetic from the outset, with a very sour profile, the fruit elements start to sneak in as the beer warms; green apple and red wine elements predominate, with the some lemon to accentuate the sourness through the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation; puckery
Overall: At first I thought the sourness was going to be too much (and some of the early Barrel Culture beers have that going for them) but I warmed to this as the beer warmed
