venfall is our Imperial Stout that is brewed specifically to receive a hefty dose of adjuncts. This dark viscous stout melds beautifully with these additions without losing its identity. This iteration of Evenfall is aged on Black and White Coffee Beans, Cinnamon, & Madagascar Vanilla Beans.

500 mL bottle. Pours black. Smells of mostly cinnamon with some sweet chocolate behind it. Some vanilla. I only get coffee when I specifically sniff for the coffee. Tastes like strong vanilla up front, though. Cinnamon is right behind it and takes over quickly and through the finish. A little bit of roasted malt in the back end. Sweet, but cinnamon tempers it. Again, I only get coffee when I concentrate on looking for it. Medium heavy. Boozy, especially in the finish. Fairly tasty, but I wouldn't want to drink a whole lot of it. Split the bottle with my dad and that was about all I needed.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense finger of somewhat dark tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of tons of coffee with a hint of cinnamon along with a slight vanilla note. Nothing really coming in from the base beer due to the coffee coming in pretty strong on the nose
T: Taste is cinnamon and coffee with some vanilla notes. Hints of roasted malts and chocolate with the cinnamon and coffee providing the dominant flavors on the palate. On the swallow there's more coffee, cinnamon, vanilla and roasted malts with a touch of dark chocolate. There's a bit of residual sugar at the very back end as well with some hints of charred wood and burnt sugar.
M: This beer has a body which is on the upper side of medium with a slightly creamy feel. Carbonation is slightly prickly at times while the beer has a slightly drying finish.
O: Overall this is pretty solid. They call it a pastry stout but it doesn't compare to something like Angry Chair. Flavors are good and there's a decent amount of complexity.
