Bought a 500 mL bottle at the brewery. Pours like motor oil. Sweet, nutty aromas. Dense and viscous body, silky smooth texture - it feels like how it looks. Strong, complex flavors of vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate, and brown sugar. Boozy finish and it leaves me with a warming feeling. Extraordinary stout, one of the most well done I’ve had from a brewery in the Raleigh area.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of dark tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of some serious nutella like notes with a hint of vanilla. There's something that reminds me of Count Chocula cereal as well.
T: Taste is dark chocolate, hazelnuts, vanilla, roasted malts, hints of charred wood and burnt sugars with more chocolate and hazelnuts. On the swallow there's vanilla, roasted malts, dark chocolate, hazelnuts, and charred wood.
M: This beer has a fairly full and slightly silky body. Carbonation is slightly prickly at times while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a pretty nice beer. It has good flavors and a nice amount of complexity. It isn't super sweet like some pastry stouts but it isn't underwhelming either. Well worth a try if you can get it or if it comes back around.
