On tap at brewery:
Auburn dark reddish and looks clear for the depth of the color. A light tab collar has a near creamy look to it, but does not like to stick to the glass.
Nice mix of estery yeast, a bit of spice, and earthy scents. A bit of prune and fig hybrid provide a tangy sweet note, a hint of clove and nutmeg for spice. Later a little cinnamon toast impression grows. These scents hide a bit until a swirl of the glass releases them more obviously.
The taste is similarly restrained but attempts to coax more out (like warming the glass) aren’t as successful as the swirl was for the nose. More earthy with a bit of the spice, the fruity aspects are pretty well dulled. Pretty crisp and light, though if I had to find a complaint, it could probably use a little more carbonation.
A pretty decent take on the Belgian style that could use just a little stronger flavor.
