According to legend, El Dorado, "The Golden Man", used to cover his body in gold dust, offering treasures to the gods in the middle of a sacred lake. Balanced Belgian-style Tripel-IPA where sweetness from the malts combines with bitternes from both whirlpool hopping and double dry-hopping with Hallertau Blanc, Mosaic, Citra, Azzaca, and, of course, El Dorado hops.

Copenhagen 7/2 2020. 33 cl little chubby bottle from Vinbørsen, Nordre Frihavnsgade, Kbh. Ø. Drawing of a very muscular muisca chief with one foot on a golden barrel on the label.
Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden orange with a big, a bit bubbly white head. Settles as thin but frothy layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense, malty sweet with a sharp almost citric sourness peeking in. Sweet pale malts. Grass. Citrus and lemon. Lightly metallic odor of alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter. Lingers for a bit. Lightly boozy finish.
Quite light in flavor despite the ABV and with a good balance between the pale malts and the American hops.

Pours a cloudy, deep, dark amber coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells rather faintly of biscuity, caramel malt and citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit and tangerine. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, caramel malt and fruity, slightly floral, herbal and resinous hops, with citrus, berry and lighter tropical notes of tangerine, grapefruit, white grape and mango, as well as just a hint of pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a very nice Triple IPA that does not feel overly sweet or boozy at all, while not really having those "overripe" fruit notes either. The citrus, berry and tropical notes come together very well here, with a good malt backbone and finishing with a very pleasant bitterness. I didn't have too high expectations of this and was really positively surprised, just like with their last brew, kinda looking forward to the Stout I still got in my fridge by them now. Really lovely balance of sweet malts and fruity, bitter hops to this, without suffering from those typical flaws of Triple IPAs at all.
