This beer is a real surprise to me. Bocks usually are too sweet or hops are missing. This one is a nicely (extra?) hopped bockbeer with an interesting complexity.
L: great lasting top; clear, ruby brown;
S: apple cake, malt, caramel, french bread, prunes;
T: a good follow up of the smell, but now the hops come in with a nice bitterness and tartness that aren't quite typical for this style;
M: great 6,5%, good CO2, steady hops; even a bit too dry!
O: a big hand for this one; can it be called a Dutch Dark Indian Pale Ale?
