Copenhagen 30/3 2024. 44 cl can from Beer Me webshop. Dark brown can with intricate patterns in gold.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a cake like sweet odor mingling with a light roasted scent. Dark roasted malts, milk chocolate, hazelnuts and peanuts. Brown sugar.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, smooth, viscous, fat, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a tad sugary. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet cake with nuts.
More sugary chocolate cake than Baltic Porter.
