The label in the supermarket called this a "bitter", and while that seems a little arbitrary, I can maybe see it.
Light copper color, average head. Smell is fruity.
Taste starts out mild, malty and fruity with a little bit of mineral taste in the background, and a mild floral hop bitterness. There's a mild acidity/tartness that kind of takes over, which meshes well with the hops, and lingers nicely on the tongue (and as I type, it's lingering more and more ... nice!).
Mouthfeel is medium, very little
This is a decent beer, and satisfying with a meal. It tastes more like a typical Japanese beer than Kamakura's other "bitter" ("Hayama"), but is certainly a tasty and high-quality example of such. I can't say it's an impressively novel beer, but it works.
